We are proud to have been building homes for 11 years, and in that time, we have grown a lot as custom home builders and designers servicing South East Melbourne, Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula.
There have been many challenges and learning experiences in that time, obstacles we have navigated to deliver custom builds and contemporary homes our customers love – and that have propelled us to numerous industry awards.
As we help ourselves to the birthday cake, we wanted to share some of our favourite builds from the last 11 years, each with its unique tale of creativity and success for our customers.
There are different levels of customisation, and this Georgian inspired home at Box Hill designed by Hargreaves Design Group highlights what can be achieved when a customer wants complete customisation with their new home.
“We do a lot of custom build homes and some of them are trickier than others,” Joe Dimech from Leneeva Homes said.
“This one here we’ve got customised design, customised fittings, we’ve got a sloping site, we’ve got existing trees, we’ve got all sorts of things happening here.”
Everything from the facade to the fixtures has been custom designed, manufactured and selected by the customer. Several unique features include the mudroom off the garage for easy storage of bags, shoes, and hats through to the stunning entertaining room off the main living area.
Here, the house’s tone changes completely with an urban brick wall installed, dark tones and plenty of space for a huge television, a bar and even a pool table.
While the aesthetics are breathtaking, this home is also an architectural feat because of the sloping site. The ground floor is split into three levels, while upstairs, where the bedrooms are housed, has two distinct platforms.
We love this home because it shows that anything and everything is possible regarding the customers’ requirements.
Box Hill, VIC Build
No list of our favourite projects would be complete without mentioning our very first construction, a build we are proud of to this very day. As far as first projects go, this one was a doozy. Presented with just 10.8m x 7.2m of space to work with, it was always a challenge to put together a comfortable and desirable family home with such limited parameters.
To achieve the result, we partnered with James Hardie to tap into their The Small Smarter Home – Future Housing Taskforce and deliver the perfect result for our customers. The result reminds us of the Tardis from Doctor Who, with a sprawling interior that defies the limited space on the exterior.
There are generous living areas, an island in the kitchen, living areas and a spacious deck out the back, along with the double carport. In addition, we created a room for landscaping and large bedrooms for everyone in the family to enjoy. This was a tremendous experience and one we are proud to have our name attached to.
In 2020, Leneeva Homes took on their biggest project to date – an 85 sqm home in Lysterfield. This was a challenging build with lots of detailed joineries and a jaw-dropping staircase leading up to the entryway.
This house is awe-inspiring in its grandeur. An architect initially conceptualised the state of the art design, but we adapted it into a beautifully tailored home perfect for any modern family looking to entertain with ease.
Working closely alongside Alicia from Hargreaves Design, we were able to adapt their plans into what you see today: A genuinely breathtaking work of architectural ingenuity.
Lysterfield, VIC Build
In 2014, we set out on a new adventure by building two display homes including designing our first single storey home display. The Anglesea is four bedrooms designed to give families the ultimate in lifestyle.
Drawing on the natural beauty of its surroundings, The Anglesea is designed to encapsulate three individual zones for a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle. An open central area leads out onto resort-style alfresco, which also adjoins the master bedroom zone in front of the home, creating perfect entertaining spaces for any occasion.
The rear of the home is a luxurious living space for any family to enjoy. It has three rooms all in one that can serve as a bedroom, study and entertainment zone with sliding glass doors opening out onto a beautiful private courtyard.
“The Anglesea’s zone living caters for everyone in the family, encouraging you to step outside and enjoy everything life has to offer,” Nicole Chapman from Empire Interiors said.

Space constraints mean that not everyone has access to sprawling lots of land to build their dream home. This is why we created the Oakland home in Berwick Waters, an exercise in quality over quantity that resulted in the award for HIA 2017 Display Home $400,001-$500,000.
The Oakland is not your average home. Instead, this modern home has everything you could ask for and more. With a sprawling kitchen, spacious entertainment areas and theatre room, this place does have it all; from alfresco areas perfect for outdoor dining to a private retreat in the upper level – there’s something here for every family.
The master bedroom suite is luxurious and glamorous, with its ensuite featuring a massive his and hers vanity, twin shower, glamourous dressing room as well as walk-in robe. This HIA award-winning Oakland home clarifies that lifestyle is important to families who want more than just a house – perfect for those looking for luxury with an affordable price tag.

With the challenge of designing and constructing dual properties on a two-unit site at Ferntree Gully, Leneeva Homes wanted to create awe-inspiring. To do this, we aimed for luxury – a boutique style that would be special in its own way.
With this custom-built home, the double block was not just for maximising profits. Ferntree Gully homes are designed with families in mind, and our expert duplex builders wanted to make the most of every inch. So we adapted a Hayman design with two stories, stylish vertical lines and cleverly utilises space by placing accommodation on top of a generous two-car garage.
The families that moved into these twin homes were thrilled by the amount of space they now have. Over-sized entertainment spaces and yards provide plenty of room to relax, while views from every angle offer a sense of tranquillity that can’t be beaten.
